I have come to discern the significance of what I call God-incidence. What we commonly call coincidence, I look deeper for WHY there is a confluence of one idea or concept from several very different streams. For example, I am working on a project that mentioned the Mona Lisa painting and at the same time I am reading “Mona Lisa” I hear “Mona Lisa” on a very innocuous baking show. How odd – on a baking show!
I am learning to pay attention to these little things. If something pops from several different sources, I no longer consider it a coincidence, but rather a God-incidence. I look for significance. What might God be sharing with me? What might He want me to do/see/declare?
Is there spiritual significance? Is it in the painting itself, its artist? Is it in the happiness the model exudes? Is it something for my beautiful friend Lisa who exudes joy, zest for life, and passion for God? Is it a celebration of creation or artistry? Is it the mystery?
The Mona Lisa painting inspired a higher, more noble presentation of its content. The artist pressed in to express what lies within, not just the external beauty. It represents MYSTERY.
God loves mystery. God conceals things – not to hide them from us, but rather to invite us to seek Him, to draw near, and to discover his good plans for us.
I have not landed on what I sense God may be sharing with me, but I will discover it. We both love when I seek what He is sharing.
I also felt moved to share this on a thread that is set up to organize a sozo ART EVENT this weekend with my spiritual sisters. God is delighted when we create.
